Fundraiser

On 8 November 2008, Light House Organization and Sports Alliance Malawi will hold a fundraiser to support the youth of Cambodia and Malawi!  A celebration dinner will be held at the Bombay Grill in Seattle at 7pm. 

The Dinner will be $20 a person, those proceeds will benefit programs supporting the Light House Orphanage.  A Raffle will be held to raise money for youth participating in soccer programs in Malawi.  All donations are tax-deductible.  Brief presentations will be given about the LHO and SAM Inc programs. You are encouraged to sign up early as the food at Bombay Grill is outstanding and the seats will go fast!

Background:

Light House Organization (LHO) is a local non-profit, NGO in Cambodia.  LHO was formed to alleviate child poverty and suffering in Cambodia by providing orphaned and abandoned children a safe home, food, clothing, medicine, education and other support, thereby giving them the opportunity to become healthy, self-dependent members of society.  They have been caring for children at their orphanage since April 2006.

There are currently 73 children (27 girls and 46 boys) aged 2 to 17, living at their orphanage.  These children are from various provinces around Cambodia, including Kompong Chnang, Kompong Speu and Kandal.  Before coming to LHO, most of these children were living on the streets or at pagodas.
